Project Description
Our team’s goal is to create a sleek, elegant, and functional smart mirror. The physical design of our smart mirror will feature an LED display behind a two-way acrylic mirror. The two-way acrylic mirror allows light from the LED display to shine through the back while the front still retains the properties of a traditional mirror. The actual software will run on a Raspberry Pi 3, housed in a pi-topCEED that doubles as both the LED display as well as the stand. Some basic functionalities of our smart mirror include weather, time, and date display elements. Additional functionalities may include live traffic updates, calendar synchronization, spotify integration, and news headlines from popular sources if time permits. User input will be received through voice commands as well as through a mobile or desktop application. Through these inputs, the goal is to allow users to be able to fully customize their mirror's UI to suit their needs. In the end, the hopes of our project is to inform the user of relevant information every morning as they get ready for the day so that no matter what weather, traffic issues, or current event is happening in the world, the user is informed and prepared.
